Position Overview:
The compliance team is seeking a manager to lead training efforts and standardize communications across the department. This individual will partner with subject matter experts to execute key training initiatives, as guided by the Compliance Training and Awareness Subcommittee, and will lead internal key compliance training initiatives across the St. Jude organization. These responsibilities will include annual mandatory training and refining training content for all new hires. They will also streamline department communications, acting as the subject matter expert for design and overall consistency of communications produced by the compliance team.
Responsibilities:
Training-focused:
- Drafts annual compliance training plan with assistance from the Compliance Training and Awareness Subcommittee (May eventually lead the CTAS).
- Ensures execution of approved plan (develops KPIs and reports same).
- Develops and delivers training programs on compliance.
- Conducts annual assessment to identify areas where compliance risks may be mitigated through training.
- Creates and keeps current engaging learning materials and course content (may work with other Compliance staff to develop training in a particular area) including annual mandatory training.
- Monitors existing training for effectiveness and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Monitors compliance with training requirements
Communication-focused:
- Drafts and maintains compliance communications plan.
- Manages internal communications such as memos, newsletters, websites.
- Drafts and assists other Compliance team members in creating high impact materials suitable for the target audience (from board level compliance reports and executive summaries to newsletters).
- Takes ownership of the annual compliance report and semi- annual compliance reports.
- Manages an ongoing internal social media presence to promote compliance activities.
- Promotes consistency of content among various compliance functional areas.
General:
- Provide oversight of institution-wide compliance programs driving overall planning and implementation.
- Guide formulation of annual work plans for large initiatives to drive institutional compliance goals.
- Set up and drive cross-departmental processes for compliance culture measurement.
- Present reports and information around institutional compliance trends and insights to institutional committees.
- Organize/ guide institutional systems for ongoing auditing, monitoring, evaluating, and facilitating compliance with changing standards.
- Serve as the institutional point of contact in relation to complex institutional compliance aspects including investigation and remediation of critical compliance concerns.
- Continuously engage with cross-departmental staff/ faculty for institutional initiatives around ongoing education and awareness related to compliance and identification of opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Guide and train early-career team members on complex compliance standards and processes.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance
- Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals of the department and institution
Qualifications:
Minimum Education and/or Training:
- Bachelor's degree in related technical field.
- Master's degree preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum Requirement: 7+ years of relevant compliance experience.
- Experience Exception: Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant compliance experience.
- Substantial experience in compliance areas (e.g., governance, auditing and monitoring, training, risk assessment, investigation of compliance concerns and action recommendation).
- Prior compliance program leadership and management experience.
- Proven performance in earlier role.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) required within two years of hire into the position.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $104,000 - $186,160 per year for the role of Manager, Compliance Training and Communications.Explore our exceptional benefits!
