There’s a reason St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is recognized as a great place to work. Because at our world-class pediatric research hospital, every one of our professionals shares our commitment to make a difference in the lives of the children we serve. There’s a unique bond when you’re part of a team that gives their all to advance the treatments and cures of pediatric catastrophic diseases. The result is a collaborative, positive environment where everyone, regardless of their role, receives the resources, support and encouragement to advance and grow their careers and be the force behind the cures.
The Department of Structural Biology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital focuses on research that goes beyond static structures. We investigate the mechanisms by which dynamics manifest into function and perturbations result in disease, using a variety of experimental and computational approaches.
Our research is supported by state-of-the-art Technology Core Centers within the department, dedicated to protein technologies, X-ray crystallography, NMR, cryo-EM/ET, single-molecule imaging, and computational structural biology.
We seek a new faculty member with expertise in developing cutting-edge methods and workflows for cryogenic correlative light and electron microscopy (cryo-CLEM) and cryo-electron tomography (cryo-ET). This faculty member will be part of the newly created Center of Excellence in Structural Cell Biology.
St. Jude offers unparalleled startup packages, equipment, laboratory space, personnel support, and continuing institutional support beyond the start-up phase, as part of our commitment to promote excellent research.
The St. Jude research community fosters a highly interactive environment, with plenty of collaborative opportunities across our basic research and clinical departments, and access to exceptional institutional shared resources that support broad research endeavors including genomics, proteomics, computational biology, CRISPR-based genome editing, mouse modeling, iPSC disease modeling, cell sorting, live-cell imaging, spatial and single-cell omics modalities, and advanced image processing and analysis.
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree and a demonstrated track record of productivity.
How to apply:
Interested applicants should submit the following directly via the online application:
