As a Senior Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for developing strategies to increase our social media presence among target audiences. Additionally, the specialist will help monitor analytics to guide best practices and grow employee online engagement and advocacy. This individual will work closely with other members of the social media team and colleagues in the Department of Strategic Communication, Education and Outreach (SCEO).
The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with a keen eye for detail, a strong communicator, an energetic, self-starter and resourceful problem solver – someone who gets things moving and keeps them on track; and has an ability to work effectively in a matrixed team environment. This individual has excellent written and oral communication skills, is detail oriented, demonstrates exceptional critical listening and analytical thinking, and an ability to juggle multiple projects with competing priorities. This individual also exhibits an understanding of emerging communication tools and new channels to align social media plans accordingly.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work independently and collaboratively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment to write, develop, review and edit compelling and engaging social media content while ensuring strategically appropriate messaging and accuracy and adhering to brand guidelines
- Develop and execute organic and paid social media campaigns in coordination with others
- Independently manage day-to-day content for our social media channels, @StJudeResearch, on Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, X (Twitter), TikTok, Threads, YouTube and Mastodon
- Monitor conversations, traffic and trends in social media through social media listening tools
- Work closely with our marketing team to develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns
- Engage with and identify opportunities for growing our target audiences on all St. Jude Research social media channels
- Maintain an editorial calendar for key social media initiatives in partnership with the Social Media Manager
- Assist with the development and implementation of a social media employee advocacy program
- Monitor social media performance by tracking metrics and analyzing campaign and messaging effectiveness
- Assist with producing and presenting social media insights and analytics reports to key stakeholders.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English or related field required.
- Master's degree / PhD in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, New Media preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum Requirement: 4+ years of experience in communications, journalism, English, or related field
- Experience in healthcare industry marketing preferred
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $65,520 - $114,400 per year for the role of Senior Social Media Specialist.Explore our exceptional benefits!
