Provides advice and guidance to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences regarding all aspects of the recruiting and interviewing. Works as a team member to meet the recruitment needs of the St. Jude Graduate School. Works with the Associate and Assistant Deans of the graduate school programs to develop and implement creative recruiting strategies and materials that meet the recruitment goals for each program. Plans and participates in conferences/meetings/career fairs, to promote the St. Jude Graduate School. Follows up with prospective students and maintains a prospect database. Works with graduate programs to plan and execute in-person interviews. Works with office of Strategic Communication, Education, and Outreach to develop first-class materials for recruiting purposes. Coordinates distribution of advertising materials. Plans special recruitment events such as the St. Jude Graduate School National Symposium for Predoctoral Research. Understands and applies institutional policies in the completion of travel requests, expense reports, and other required documentation. Operates a motor vehicle to assist with recruiting. Performs other related duties as assigned in order to meet the goals and objectives of the office and institution.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in system-wide recruiting events/initiatives, as necessary.
  • Plan, coordinate, and participate in exhibiting at scientific meetings and conferences.
  • Contribute to the process improvement initiatives by making suggestions and executing on solutions.
  • Mentor other members of the graduate school in adopting and applying recruitment best practices.
  • Support the development of sourcing plans for recruitment.
  • Work with the associate and assistant deans of the programs to understand and forecast future recruitment goals.
  • Work with other recruitment teams at St. Jude to streamline recruitment efforts.
  • Provide annual training to all representatives of the St. Jude Graduate School participating in recruitment efforts and interviews.
  • Effectively present new recruiting and sourcing concepts to graduate school leadership.
  • Leverage online recruiting resources and in-house applicant tracking system to identify and recruit qualified students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the graduate school.
  • Manage a prospect database for the graduate school and communicate with prospective students.
  • Develop and update recruitment materials for each program annually.
  • Manage recruitment budget.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum Requirement: 2+ years of experience in a talent acquisition or similar role handling sourcing and/ or recruiting activities.
  • Experience with full lifecycle recruiting components (e.g., qualifying, networking, candidate selection, job analysis, salary trends).
  • Experience establishing cross-functional collaboration, recruiting networks, and implementing innovative techniques to source and attract talent, preferred.
  • Experience with sourcing techniques (e.g. recruiting on social platforms and crafting Boolean search strings); Experience using ATS and CRM technology.
  • Experience working with employment laws and state and local laws as applicable.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification Required by SJCRH Only:

  • Must have a valid driver's license from the employee’s state of residence

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $60,320 - $105,040 per year for the role of Academic Recruiter II- St. Jude Graduate School.
