Job Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage genetically engineered in vivo model colonies
Perform technical procedures such as injections, blood collection, and tissue harvesting
Process tissues and blood specimens for downstream molecular and cellular analyses.
Perform basic molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and genotyping
Culture cells and established cell lines under sterile conditions
Conduct viral transductions (e.g., lentiviral infections) in vitro and in vivo under BSL-2 conditions
Coordinate experimental timelines with investigators and maintain accurate research records
Maintain detailed documentation of in vivo model health records, experimental data, and laboratory procedures
Minimum Education and/or Training:
Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific area is required
Minimum Experience:
Two (2) years of relevant, post-degree research experience is required; no prior experience is required with a Master’s degree
Prior hands-on experience with preclinical in vivo models in a research setting
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a research team
Knowledge of regulatory standards, ethical guidelines, and best practices for in vivo research
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $26.00 - $45.50 per hour for the role of Senior Researcher - Department of Pathology (Mullighan Lab).Explore our exceptional benefits!
