There’s a reason St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is recognized as a great place to work. Because at our world-class pediatric research hospital, every one of our professionals shares our commitment to make a difference in the lives of the children we serve. There’s a unique bond when you’re part of a team that gives their all to advance the treatments and cures of pediatric catastrophic diseases. The result is a collaborative, positive environment where everyone, regardless of their role, receives the resources, support and encouragement to advance and grow their careers and be the force behind the cures.
A postdoc position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Daniel Blair which focuses on leveraging high-throughput chemical synthesis and MS/MS analysis to create predictive models of chemical reactivity.
Substrate aware reaction condition prediction
This project seeks to capitalize on our recent development of rapid tandem mass-spectrometry methods to scout chemical reaction outcomes (Nature2024, JACS2026, Nature Protocols 2026). The proposed data rich experimentation will connect chemical structures to optimal reaction conditions. A competitive candidate will have a background in synthetic organic chemistry, experience with either automated synthesis or high-throughput experimentation is desirable. The project will be executed in the Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and builds on strong investments into a world-class infrastructure in high-throughput chemical synthesis and analysis.
Please direct queries and application packets including a cover letter, current CV, and contact information for 3 referees to Dr. Daniel Blair (daniel.blair@stjude.org).
