PROGRAM MANAGER, GLOBAL INFECTIOUS DISEASES PROGRAM

Memphis, TN

The Program Manager in Global Pediatric Medicine's Infectious Diseases team will be over capacity building, implementation science, quality improvement, and focus on research. The right candidate will have a background in either infectious diseases or public health.
This role plans and manages projects and/or programs, resource requirements, training needs, deliverables, and manages the design and testing of projects, inclusive of data management for infectious diseases initiatives. The program manager will also provide statistical analyses of quality improvement data.
This role makes high level impressions, has a significant role in guideline development and evidence-based care outside of USA. Someone with a quality improvement background, methodology, academia and research work to understand infect complications, antimicrobial stewardship and resistance, would be very valuable.
This team collaborates with clinical labs and translational science partners. You would work with project specific data and roll out data systems, has a part in education, as well as quality metrics. Past publications and work with basic science labs and grants would be beneficial to the team.
*Experience with implementation science is a huge bonus.

Overview

The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research. The Program Manager for the Global Infectious Diseases Program will focus on growing a program dedicated to improving the management of infectious complications in children with catastrophic diseases worldwide.


The Program Manager will have a critical role in shaping the direction of an exciting portfolio ranging from clinical laboratory collaborations to advancing the science of guideline development. This individual will be responsible for the coordination of multisite efforts in research, quality improvement, and implementation science, and will have the opportunity to develop skills in these areas. To fulfill tasks, this individual is expected to develop strong relationships with internal and external partners across the globe.


Responsibilities


The Program Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading the planning and execution of the program including defining objectives, approaches, goals, governance mechanisms, resource deployment, monitoring and communication.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams internally and externally to achieve defined outcomes aligned with departmental strategies

  • Representing the program and developing strong relationships within the institution and with external parties

  • Developing and tracking metrics of program success

  • Managing and executing program budgets

  • Providing complex analysis and interpretation of data to create program related reports

  • Overseeing the program team


Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to think creatively to support program planning and coordination, demonstrating a strong understanding of customer needs and program objectives

  • Experience developing plans (including budget and resources) for complex programs

  • Strong oral presentation and writing skills

  • Strong critical thinking to identify trends and draw out insights; works with a high level of independence.

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and balance multiple priorities

  • Cultural sensitivity

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as a team player and express ideas objectively and effectively

  • Commitment to supporting the professional growth of team members

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Experience with quality improvement and implementation science methodologies preferred

  • Infectious diseases research experience preferred

  • Flexibility in schedule to accommodate meetings across different time zones

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.


Minimum Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in program management and delivery.

  • Experience designing and managing programs with focus on customer needs.

  • Experience in program budget tracking, reporting and risk management.

  • Proven experience engaging with senior leaders to facilitate decision making.

  • Experience providing guidance and mentorship within program management team.

  • Some experience driving continuous program improvement projects.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Program Manager, Global Infectious Diseases Program.
