The Guenther Lab is seeking an outstanding, highly motivated, team-oriented candidate for a Researcher or Senior Researcher level position to join our efforts in advancing therapeutic targets for osteosarcoma, a rare but aggressive pediatric bone tumor.
The Guenther lab utilizes genome-scale CRISPR screening and other complementary chemical and genomic screening modalities in pre-clinical models to uncover novel dependencies, or critical osteosarcoma-specific survival genes. We are interested in the validation of these osteosarcoma-specific vulnerabilities for new biologic insights and therapeutic interventions. Recently, research in the Guenther laboratory has identified several genes involved in DNA damage repair that may be biologically relevant in this disease. The lab is specifically interested in the biologic investigation of these pathways in osteosarcoma and how they may be optimally exploited for patient care.
The successful candidate will: 1) support efficient laboratory operations and 2) provide technical support for ongoing laboratory projects, including collecting and analyzing data.
Excellent written and communication skills as well as direct experience with mouse handling, basic molecular biology/biochemical laboratory techniques, mammalian cell culture and molecular cloning are required for this position. Candidates should be able to communicate effectively and work both independently and as part of a team of scientists, bioinformaticians, and trainees, and execute tasks in an organized and timely manner.
